Why is this treatment combined with skin needling?

This allows for greater penetration of the product and to maximise your scalp and hair benefits. While the microchannels are open from the needling, the crystal care solution for hair is applied directly onto the hair follicles. These treatments work in harmony so you are receiving the benefits of skin needling + active vitamins/ minerals/ peptides contained in the solution.

What are the benefits of skin needling/ collagen induction therapy/ micro needling and how is it performed?

Collagen and elastin levels are declining as we age, and these give our skin its bounce and elasticity. Skin needling works by stimulating your body to boost collagen and elastin levels, by creating a wound response in the skin.

The areas being treated are first cleansed and the skin needling pen glides over the area. The injecting pen has multiple fine needles and a light vibration that penetrates your skin. The depth of needling is adjusted according to the condition and quality of the scalp or areas being treated.

Skin needling is also used on the face, neck, decolletage, hands, arms or anywhere that needs an improvement in overall skin condition. It suits all skin types and can reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, acne, enlarged pores, blackheads, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores and improve overall skin texture and tone. How many treatments are required?

For best results a series of treatments are recommended.

3 treatments at 2- week intervals, followed by 3 treatments at monthly intervals; then 1 treatment every 3 months to maintain the benefits.

Who isn’t suitable for this treatment?

 

• If you are you allergic to fish or shellfish you cannot have this treatment. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) for hair growth is another treatment that is available in clinic.

• If you are undergoing treatment for cancer e.g. chemotherapy.

​​

• Any autoimmune disorders or immunotherapy.

​​

• Pregnant or breast-feeding women.

​​

• Must be 18 years +.

• Known allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

• Active infection in the treatment area.

Crystal care hair growth factors and how does it improve the scalp and hair?

They aim to extend the time in the anagen growth phase which gives the hair more time to grow, slowing down the balding process. The peptides may improve hair and scalp health and appearance, hair follicle health and function, and improve blood and nutrient supply.

Improving scalp condition: The regeneration of the skin cells enhances the scalps natural protective barrier, thereby improving the condition of the scalp.

Improving blood circulation: Increases the nutrient supply to the hair follicles, which is important for healthy hair growth.

Strengthening hair strands: To prevent breakage and help to strengthen the structural integrity of the hair and hair shaft.

How is the treatment performed?

The area is cleansed and skin needling performed to the entire area of the scalp and where there is hair loss/ thinning. This can include the eyebrows, beard or moustache.

A vibrating pen with multiple fine needles is used over the entire treatment area. The Crystal Care serum is then applied to the entire area so it should feel soothing and hydrated.

We recommend washing your hair the morning of your treatment and not apply any hair products. That evening please refrain from washing your hair, if possible, also. The next day you can wash your hair as normal. The scalp might feel a little sensitive so it is important to wear a hat and sunscreen on the treatment area to prevent any sun exposure.

Post care instructions will be given to you on the day and also emailed. It is important to follow these to get the best results.

When will you notice the benefits from Crystal Care for hair?

The scalp may feel tight immediately after the treatment, but the serum does calm and soothe the skin. Skin needling can make the scalp feel a little rough in the few days following the treatment, so it is important to follow our post treatment instructions. Because of the variety of potential causes of hair loss, it can be difficult to predict the time needed to achieve a good hair regrowth outcome.

The closer to the first hair loss episode, and if treatment commences, the smaller number of treatments are normally required, and less time needed to achieve hair regrowth.

Typically, 4 months after the first treatment (=5 treatments) hair growth and improvement of health and strength to existing hair should be noticed.
