CHIN RESHAPING WITH VOLUMISERS AND IMPLANTS

gold coast

Question 1.

WHAT IS A RECEDING CHIN?

The term is used to describe when the chin slopes slightly backward towards your neck, resulting in the lower jaw appearing to be positioned further back than the upper jaw. It is also called retrogenia.

Question 2.

WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF A RECEDING CHIN?

Genetics, ageing, thumb sucking and an overbite can cause a recessed chin.

A receding chin or jawline affects the proportions of the entire face, and the chin and the nose significantly affect facial harmony.  A receding chin can cause a double chin and insecurities in men and women.

Some are born with a receding chin and others can develop one over time. It is a natural part of the ageing process as bone and soft tissue around the jaw is naturally lost. The jawline then starts to become less pronounced and can start to recede.

Question 3.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE CHIN AS WE AGE?

Volume is lost in the fat pads (these are all over the face and in the chin) as well as bone loss, a loss in muscle mass, collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

These volume changes make the lower face appear heavy, contributing to the formation of jowls, reduced definition in the jawline, loose skin and less surrounding structural support, and then the chin begins to move backwards.

With age the lower third of the face is getting shorter, the chin becomes shorter, marionette wrinkles appear, and the corners of the mouth begin to turn down. Some patients will also lose volume around the entire chin area, jowls develop, and the mental crease (horizontal chin wrinkle) appears and gets deeper.

Question 4.

HOW DOES THE CHIN AFFECTS FACIAL HARMONY & SHAPE?

The position of the chin plays a crucial role in defining the facial silhouette and influencing how other facial features are perceived in relation to one another. When the chin is recessed, it can create an imbalance, making the nose appear larger or the neck less defined.

When assessing the chin, we aim to replace lost volume in the chin to strike a balance between the nose, lip and chin.  This line is used to measure facial harmony and balance. It is measured from the tip of the nose, to the tip of the lips, and to the tip of the chin. It is also called the E- Ricketts line and is an important aspect to consider when assessing the face.

Strategically replacing lost volume in the chin will make a recessed chin project more and bring it forward so it is better aligned with other facial features.  Supporting the marionette wrinkles and lifting up the corners of the mouth will help to slow down the visible signs of ageing around the entire mouth and chin, and assist with delaying the formation of jowls. As well as creating chin projection, this treatment can lengthen the chin area to create more definition.

At Restore My Glow we know no two faces are the same and every patient’s anatomy is different so this treatment is tailored to the individual. Knowledge of facial ageing, facial balance and how this impacts the visible signs of ageing is something we consider when tailoring a treatment plan specific to personal chin goals, facial shape and structure.

TREATMENT OPTIONS FOR A RECESSED CHIN

A surgical option is a chin implant and this was the only option (apart from braces) until volumising treatments were developed. Now there are non-surgical options to re shape the chin and volumise the entire area to slow down the visible signs of ageing.

CHIN RESHAPING AND VOLUMISATION: THE NON-SURGICAL WAY

The chin can be re shaped, projected and lengthened to replace lost volume where it is needed the most.  One of the other advantages of this treatment is the jawline will appear tighter and smoother as it can help to lift sagging jowls. The specific details of this treatment are discussed face to face during the consultation process.

Benefits of volume replacement in the chin:

•    Helps define the jawline,
•    Tightens and smooths skin,
•    Gives a receding chin more projection and definition,
•    Lengthens the chin,
•    Improves the shape of the chin,
•    Balance facial features (like a prominent nose),
•    Restore lost volume,
•    Smooth chin wrinkles and marionette lines,
•    Fill in a cleft,
•    Create more definition between the face and neck,
•    Can soften dimples.

Question 5.

WHAT IS THE MENTAL CREASE?

The mental crease is a horizontal groove below the lower lip and above the chin.

CHIN CREASE (MENTAL CREASE) REDUCTION

This can be achieved in a few ways by reducing the strength of the mentalis muscle first, then the wrinkle is treated by lifting and softening it to reduce its depth and size.

A crease in the chin can develop over time and this wrinkle is called the mental crease. When the mentalis muscle contraction is reduced, the chin appears longer in length. In addition, it will improve the skin surface by reducing chin dimpling and the appearance of the orange peel effect.

Then softening the mental crease wrinkle to lift and replace lost volume to the chin area can be performed.

HOW THE CHIN AFFECTS OTHER FACIAL FEATURES

Treating the chin will help to prevent jowls and can affect other facial features. It can also impact the nose, lips and entire perioral area.  Volumising the chin will support the entire surrounding areas and provide perioral structural support. It can also strike a better balance with the lips. When assessing the chin, the entire surrounding areas are also assessed as this area is commonly treated with other areas of the lower face.

MARIONETTE LINE SOFTENING

With age marionette wrinkles can start to appear and the corners of the mouth start to turn down. These wrinkles can be treated in various ways depending on the severity of the wrinkle. This treatment will be discussed in more detail during the consultation for volume replacement.

Question 6.

WHAT OTHER TREATMENTS CAN BE COMBINED WITH A CHIN RESHAPING TREATMENT?

Relaxing the masseter muscle contraction to lengthen the chin is a treatment that can be done before a chin volumising/ re- shaping treatment.

Central vertical neck bands (platysma bands) can be treated to alleviate any strain on the chin and jawline, to give a lifting effect of the lower face.

Skin treatments can also be performed to improve the quality, texture and tone of the skin. Some of these may also be used in combination to address skin concerns at the time.  More information can be found on the website that explain these treatments in detail, or book in a consultation so they can be discussed relevant to you.

Some other treatments my include and these are available in clinic.

•    Skin needling plus Crystal Care skin serum treatment. Contains 61ingredients of peptides, vitamins, minerals, amino acids to improve skin function and health.

•    Skin booster injections to improve the skin elasticity, texture and tone with a booster of many skin ingredients.  These are stamped with a multi head needle over the treatment area.

•    Skin needling (microneedling) to stimulate the body’s own collagen and elastin.

•    Chemical peels to gently exfoliate the skins surface.  These are customised according to the skin’s needs at the time.  For fine lines reduction, improved elasticity, texture and tone.

Question 7.

HOW TO BOOK IN FOR THIS TREATMENT?

A consultation to discuss your medical history and perform a facial assessment is the first step. This gives you the opportunity to discuss your goals and make an informed decision about the treatment, after receiving all the information about the risks and what the treatment entails.  It is during this discussion that costs are also given to you.  On the website you will be taken to the booking system. Look for Cosmetic Treatments and Consultations and then “Consultation for Facial Volume Loss”.

At Restore My Glow we don’t just look at treating a specific area but the impact of that area on the entire face. So, the chin isn’t normally treated in isolation, it is normally treated at the same time as the jawline and lower face.

Please note: Not all patients are suitable for all treatments and each patient is reviewed and consulted by a health care practitioner first, and depending on the outcome of the consultation, may or may not lead to the provision of a prescription and treatment.

As this is a medical treatment a detailed consultation is required first, and during that time the treatment for a receding chin, softening the chin crease, and volumising the chin area will be discussed in detail.

Question 8.

Is it advisable to use chin volumisers after having a chin implant?

When considering chin volumisers after having an implant, it's important to be aware of some crucial factors. Implants lack their own blood supply, making them more vulnerable to infections. If an infection does occur, it can be difficult for the body to manage, even with antibiotics. In severe cases, this might necessitate the surgical removal of the implant.

Because of these risks, it's discouraged to administer volumisers directly on or around chin implants. It's vital to have a thorough discussion with your healthcare provider about these risks.

Ultimately, the decision to use chin volumisers after an implant should not be taken lightly and requires careful consideration and consultation with a medical health care professional, who will decide if they will authorise the treatment.

Question 9.

Are there options available for reducing chin size?

Absolutely, those considering reducing chin size have several avenues to explore. For individuals feeling their chin is too prominent, chin reduction surgery is a widely-recognised option. This surgical procedure aims to create a balanced facial appearance, especially beneficial for those whose chins appear larger compared to features such as the nose, forehead, or cheeks.

Surgical and Non-Surgical Solutions:

  1. Chin Reduction Surgery: This involves reshaping the chin bone to better align with other facial features, usually requiring a consultation with a certified plastic surgeon to discuss the desired outcomes and potential risks.

  2. Non-Surgical Approaches: Sometimes, what seems like a prominent chin might actually be due to the recession of adjacent facial tissues. In such cases, non-surgical treatments can enhance the surrounding areas to create a more harmonious facial structure:

    • Volumisers: Volumisers can be used to enhance the jawline, soften marionette lines, or augment the lips, which can create the illusion of a smaller chin.

    • Fat Grafting: This technique uses the patient's own fat to add volume to areas around the chin, reducing its perceived size.

By considering these options, individuals can select the best approach to achieving a more proportional and balanced facial appearance. Always consult with a qualified health care professional to discuss potential treatments, understand the risks, and ensure they align with your goals and expectations.

Question 10.

Can orthodontic treatments prevent a receding chin from developing?

Orthodontic treatments can indeed play a crucial role in preventing the development of a receding chin, especially when addressed early. During childhood or adolescence, corrective measures such as braces or aligners can help guide jaw growth and improve alignment, effectively reducing the risk of a receding chin.

Recognising the Signs Early

Many individuals may not notice a receding chin until adulthood. However, early intervention is key to preventing or minimising its development. Parents and caregivers can assist by observing the alignment of a child’s teeth and jaw as they grow.

Consult a Range of Specialists

To determine the best course of action, it’s beneficial to consult with various health care professionals and specialists. Recommendations may involve:

  • Orthodontists: They address the alignment of teeth and jaws, which can influence chin prominence.

  • Oral Surgeons: In some cases, surgical options might be considered.

  • ENT Specialists: They can offer insights into how airway issues might affect jaw development.

  • Dentists: Regular check-ups can help monitor and guide jaw growth.

Tailored Treatment Plans

Each individual's needs are unique, so a combination of treatments may be recommended based on specific conditions. These tailored plans ensure favourable outcomes for both functionality and aesthetics.

In summary, while orthodontic interventions can significantly reduce the likelihood of a receding chin, early detection and a comprehensive approach involving multiple specialists offer the best results.

Question 11.

Can chin volumisers create the appearance of a slimmer face?

Yes, chin volumisers can indeed create the illusion of a slimmer face. These non-surgical procedures work by enhancing the chin's profile, which can subtly change the face's proportion.

Here’s how they work:

  • Accentuated Chin: By adding volume to the chin, the overall facial structure appears more pronounced. This change can lead to a more defined jawline, which in turn makes the face seem longer and leaner.

  • Balance and Proportion: Adjusting the chin's positioning with volumisers can create balance with other facial features. For some, this modification results in the rest of the face appearing sleeker and more elongated.

  • Versatile Enhancements: Depending on the placement of the volumisers, different aesthetic goals can be achieved, such as widening or slimming the facial appearance.

Ultimately, chin volumisers are a popular choice for those looking to refresh their appearance without undergoing surgery.

Question 12.

What are the potential risks associated with chin implant surgery?

Chin implant surgery comes with its share of potential risks, similar to any surgical procedure. Although these risks are generally infrequent and tend to be minimal, it's crucial to be aware of them.

Key Risks Include:

  • Infection: There's a possibility of infection, which can sometimes necessitate the removal of the implant.

  • Scarring: Post-surgical scarring may occur, but this tends to diminish over time.

  • Implant Rejection: In rare instances, the body may reject the implant.

  • Bleeding: As with any surgery, bleeding is a potential concern.

  • Anaesthesia Side Effects: Patients might experience side effects from anaesthesia, though these are typically transient.

Each of these risks varies in likelihood and severity, but knowing them can help individuals make informed decisions about undergoing the procedure.

Question 13.

What is the typical duration of a chin volumiser procedure?

The duration of a chin volumiser procedure generally ranges from approximately 30 minutes. This timeframe can vary based on the number of syringes required and the length of the preliminary consultation.

The process begins with the cosmetic health care professional evaluating how much volumiser is necessary for your desired outcome, discussing what to expect, the associated risks and cost of the treatment. Following this, the area is meticulously cleaned, and markings might be made on the skin to guide the treatment. You will be given the opportunity to speak with a doctor who will also discuss the risks for this procedure.

Although patients may experience slight pressure sensations during or after the treatment, the procedure itself is quick and relatively comfortable.

Question 14.

Are chin volumisers considered safe?

Chin volumisers have gained popularity as a less invasive alternative to surgical procedures, widely regarded as safe by cosmetic professionals. These volumisers are used to enhance the definition of the lower jawline, bringing balance to the profile by strengthening the chin area. When applied properly, chin volumisers can lead to a more harmonious and attractive appearance. The products used at Restore My Glow are all premium products that have been tried and tested and backed by rigorous scientific research.

All treatments carry risks and these are discussed during the consultation process.  It is important to understand these risks when making an informed decision about this treatment.

Redness, swelling, bruising, inflammation and pain are the more common side effects, and less common are infections, migration, nodules or granulomas, and vascular compromise.

Benefits of Chin Volumisers

  • Adjustable Results: One key advantage is the flexibility to enhance or remove volumisers over time. Patients can refine their look through multiple sessions, which is particularly beneficial for addressing asymmetry—offering the chance to add volume precisely where it's needed.

  • Reversibility: Another safety feature is the ability to reverse volumisers easily if desired. Products commonly used for chin treatments can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, allowing for adjustments without the permanence of surgery.

Considerations for Safety

While chin volumisers are generally safe, it is crucial to avoid administering volumisers on or around existing chin implants. Surgery might be required if complications arise with implants, making volumisers a less risky option when used appropriately. As with any cosmetic procedures there are risks involved and these should be discussed in detail before going ahead with any treatment.

Question 16.

What are the benefits of using thicker volumisers for chin enhancement?

Thicker volumisers have revolutionised chin enhancement, offering several advantages over traditional surgical methods.

  1. Reduced Need for Surgery: These volumisers often eliminate the necessity for invasive surgical implants. By opting for volumisers, you can achieve desired facial contours without undergoing surgery, which means faster recovery and fewer risks.

  2. Flexibility and Customisation: The versatility of hyaluronic acid volumisers provides the ability to make adjustments as needed. Whether you wish to add more volumiser for enhanced results or dissolve some for a subtler change, thick volumisers grant you control over the final look.

  3. Natural Results: With their robust consistency, thicker volumisers can mimic the natural look and feel of bone, ensuring that enhancements appear seamless and authentic.

  4. Reversibility: Unlike permanent surgical implants, these volumisers can be dissolved if you change your mind or aren't satisfied with the results, providing peace of mind and a no-commitment approach to enhancement.

  5. Incremental Adjustments: You can gradually augment your chin over multiple sessions, tailoring the enhancements to suit evolving preferences or subtle facial changes over time.

This modern approach not only simplifies the procedure but also enhances patient confidence and satisfaction by delivering natural, flexible, and reversible results.

Question 17.

How long do chin volumisers typically last?

The duration of chin volumisers varies depending on the type of volumiser used and the amount placed into the chin, as well as factors discussed during the consultation process e.g. medial history, metabolism and lifestyle choices.

Hyaluronic Acid Volumisers:

  • These volumisers are known for providing instant volume to the jaw and chin.

  • You can expect results to be prominent right after treatment, although some swelling may occur initially.

  • The effects of most hyaluronic acid volumisers generally last between nine months to two years. Over time, your body naturally metabolises these volumisers.

Collagen-Stimulating Volumisers:

  • These volumisers work differently, as they stimulate collagen production for a more gradual enhancement.

  • Full results may take between six to eighteen weeks to become visible.

  • Once achieved, the effects can last from one to two years, providing a more long-term solution for volume enhancement.

It's worth noting that non-hyaluronic volumisers can't be reversed immediately, so it's essential to consult with a health care professional to determine the best option for your needs.

Question 18.

What causes a receding chin, and how can it be addressed?

A receding chin can be attributed to several factors, including genetics, aging, thumb sucking, and dental issues like an overbite. These factors can alter the facial structure, affecting the proportions of the entire face. For instance, a receding chin can impact facial harmony, as the chin and the nose play significant roles in this balance.

The process of ageing naturally leads to the loss of bone and soft tissue around the jaw, causing the jawline to become less pronounced and potentially leading to a receding chin. Additionally, low calcium levels can exacerbate the loss of bone density in the jaw area, further contributing to a recessed chin.

TREATMENT OPTIONS FOR A RECESSED CHIN

Historically, surgical options such as chin implants and genioplasty were the primary solutions for enhancing a receding chin. These methods aimed to improve the chin's projection and overall facial symmetry. However, with advancements in cosmetic procedures, non-surgical options have become increasingly popular. These options focus on reshaping the chin and volumising the entire area to counteract the visible signs of ageing.

CHIN RESHAPING AND VOLUMISATION: THE NON-SURGICAL WAY

Non-surgical treatments offer the ability to reshape, project, and lengthen the chin, addressing lost volume precisely where it's needed. One key advantage of these treatments is the ability to tighten and smooth the jawline, providing a lift to sagging jowls. These procedures are often discussed in detail during a personalised consultation to ensure they meet individual needs.

Benefits of volume replacement in the chin:

  • Helps define the jawline

  • Tightens and smooths skin

  • Provides more projection and definition to a receding chin

  • Lengthens the chin

  • Improves the chin's shape

  • Balances facial features, such as a prominent nose

  • Restores lost volume

  • Smooths out chin wrinkles and marionette lines

  • Fills in a cleft

  • Creates more definition between the face and neck

  • Softens dimples

The evolution of treatment options from surgical to non-surgical reflects the growing demand for less invasive methods that offer flexibility and minimal downtime. These modern approaches allow for adjustments to achieve the desired aesthetic outcome, making them a preferred choice for many looking to enhance their facial profile.

What are the advantages of using volumisers for chin enhancement compared to surgical methods?

Volumisers for chin enhancement provide several advantages over surgical methods, including a less invasive procedure, lower recovery time, and the ability to make incremental adjustments to achieve the perfect look. These benefits make volumisers an increasingly popular choice for individuals seeking to enhance their chin and jawline aesthetics.

How has patient preference shifted in terms of treatment options?

There has been a noticeable shift in patient preferences from traditional surgical interventions to non-surgical options like dermal volumisers. This change is largely due to the advantages of volumisers being less invasive, having reduced downtime, and offering customisable results.

What are the specific modern non-surgical treatments available for a receding chin, and what are their benefits?

Modern non-surgical treatments for a receding chin include the use of long-lasting premium volumisers.  Brand names are prohibited from being advertised but can be discussed during the consultation.  These volumisers offer benefits such as being minimally invasive, requiring less recovery time, and providing the flexibility to adjust the amount of volumiser to achieve the desired look.

What are the historical treatment options for a receding chin?

Historically, individuals with receding chins often turned to surgical methods such as chin implants and genioplasty to enhance their profiles. These procedures were once the primary solutions for achieving a more pronounced chin.

What are the specific physiological factors contributing to a receding chin?

A receding chin can result from several physiological factors, including the natural ageing process and genetic predispositions. Over time, ageing and low calcium levels can lead to the depletion of bone and soft tissue in the jaw area, contributing to a more recessed chin appearance.

Question 19.

What are the characteristics of a well-proportioned chin?

When assessing the chin, we aim to replace lost volume in the chin to strike a balance between the nose, lip, and chin. Beauty, as always, is subjective, and what constitutes a "good" chin can vary from person to person. However, many people agree that a well-proportioned chin aligns harmoniously with other facial features, such as the forehead, cheeks, and lips.

A common guideline involves using a vertical line as a reference point—drawn from the base of the nose towards the ground. Ideally, the chin should neither protrude in front of nor recede behind this line. This line is used to measure facial harmony and balance. It is measured from the tip of the nose, to the tip of the lips, and to the tip of the chin. It is also called the E- Ricketts line and is an important aspect to consider when assessing the face.

Ultimately, achieving facial balance often involves considering these proportions and how they relate to each individual's unique facial structure. This holistic approach ensures that any enhancements contribute to a naturally appealing and harmonious appearance.

What is a practical guideline for assessing chin proportion?

A practical guideline involves drawing a vertical line from the base of the nose downward. The chin should ideally not extend beyond or retreat behind this line for balanced proportions.

How does a chin relate to other facial features?

A well-proportioned chin should harmonise with the forehead, nose, cheeks, and lips, contributing to the overall balance of facial features.

What defines a 'good' chin?

A 'good' chin is subjective and varies from person to person. There's no universal standard, as beauty is highly subjective.

Question 20.

How do chin volumisers compare to chin implants?

TREATMENT OPTIONS FOR A RECESSED CHIN

A surgical option is a chin implant, and this was the only option (apart from braces) until volumising treatments were developed. Now, there are non-surgical options to reshape the chin and volumise the entire area to slow down the visible signs of ageing.

Comparing Chin Volumisers and Implants

Each treatment modality for chin enhancement has its pros and cons and both carry risks that should be discussed during your consultation with your health care professional.

Volumiser:

  • Convenience: No need for pre-op lab work or preparation.

  • Anaesthesia: General or IV sedation is not necessary.

  • Flexibility: Results can be adjusted by adding or dissolving volumisers during future visits.

  • Complications: If any local complication occurs, an enzyme can simply be administered to dissolve the volumisers. It is crucial to see a qualified health care professional that knows how to manage any adverse events or complications that may arise.

Surgical Implants:

  • Extent of Enhancement: Preferred when a large amount of enhancement is needed.

  • Complications: In the event of an infection, the implant must be surgically removed. This risk deters future enhancements with volumisers or other procedures.

Since the advent of volumisers, most patients opt for them over surgical interventions. Volumisers offer more flexibility and fewer risks, making them an attractive choice for those seeking enhancement without the potential complications of surgery.

What is the general patient preference between volumisers and implants?

Most patients today prefer volumisers over surgical options, largely due to the flexibility and lower risk associated with non-surgical treatments.

How do these treatments affect future modifications?

Volumisers allow for modifications in the future, enabling adjustments to the chin area as needed. Conversely, surgical implants discourage future enhancements, as complications may arise if further procedures like volumisers are attempted.

What are the risks associated with each treatment?

While both options are generally lower risk compared to some other procedures, volumisers have a lower risk of complications, which can be managed in the hands of a qualified health care professional.  Surgical implants, however, carry a higher risk of infection, and any complications might necessitate the removal of the implant.

What are the pros of surgical chin implants?

Surgical chin implants are beneficial for those seeking significant enhancement, as they may provide a more substantial change in appearance compared to volumisers.

What are the pros of chin volumisers?

Chin volumisers offer several advantages, including the convenience of skipping pre-operative lab work and preparation. They don't require general or IV sedation, and adjustments can be made by adding or dissolving the volumisers in subsequent visits. Additionally, any local complications can be addressed with an enzyme that dissolves the volumisers. Understanding the risks for both procedures is important before going ahead with any procedure.

Question 21.

How can chin dimpling be treated?

TREATING CHIN DIMPLING

Chin dimpling, often caused by the contraction of the mentalis muscle, can also be effectively treated using a product to relax the muscle as well as volumisers. Reducing the appearance of the chin crease helps smooth out the area by reducing muscle activity, preventing lines and dimples from etching into the skin over time.

In addition to reducing the appearance of wrinkles, volumisers are commonly used to fill the dimples that appear when the chin is contracted. This dual approach not only addresses existing dimples but also improves the skin's overall texture and appearance, enhancing the chin's natural contour.

By combining these treatments, you can achieve a smoother, more refined chin profile, preventing the dimples from becoming a permanent feature.

What are the potential long-term benefits of treating chin dimpling?

By addressing chin dimples early, these treatments can prevent the lines from becoming permanently etched into the skin, ensuring a smoother appearance even when the muscles are at rest.

How do these treatments work for chin dimpling?

Softening the chin muscle works by relaxing the muscles to smooth out the skin, while volumisers add volume to the dimples, effectively making them less noticeable.

What treatments are available for chin dimpling?

Chin dimpling can be treated with volumisers, as well as reducing the appearance of the chin crease, which are popular options for addressing this cosmetic concern.

Skin treatments can also be performed to improve the chins texture and tone and smooth out any imperfections.

Question 22.

How do reducing the appearance of the chin crease and chin volumisers help with chin dimpling?

CHIN CREASE (MENTAL CREASE) REDUCTION

A crease in the chin can develop over time, known as the mental crease. This wrinkle is often addressed by reducing the strength of the mentalis muscle first, then treating the wrinkle by lifting and softening it to reduce its depth and size. This process not only enhances the appearance of the chin but also improves the overall skin surface by reducing chin dimpling and the appearance of the orange peel effect.

While relaxing the mentalis muscle is instrumental in smoothing out the chin area, volumisers play a crucial role in filling the dimples created when the chin is contracted. It works by reducing muscle activity, preventing the dimples and lines from becoming etched into the skin. If left untreated, these lines can remain visible even when the muscle is not in use, creating a permanent appearance of dimpling.

After the muscle contraction is reduced and the chin appears longer, softening the mental crease by lifting and replacing lost volume can further refine the chin area. This combined approach not only addresses existing wrinkles but also helps prevent future development, maintaining a smooth, youthful chin contour.

What are the potential long-term effects of untreated chin dimpling?

If chin dimpling is not treated, the lines and dimples can become etched into the skin, making them visible even when the muscles are relaxed.

How do reducing the appearance of wrinkles and volumisers specifically address chin dimpling?

Chin relaxation helps to smooth the chin area by relaxing the muscles, while volumisers are used to fill in the dimples caused by muscle contractions, creating a smoother surface.
