ABOUT LISA ADAMS
cosmetic injecting nurse

In 2000 I started my nursing career on the Gold Coast as a Registered Nurse in Oncology.  I absolutely loved this area of nursing and stayed for years until I aspired to travel and nurse overseas.

Having worked in Australia and the UK as a registered nurse, I have gained a wealth of nursing experience working in different hospitals and different specialties, including paediatrics, orthopaedics and plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as Harley Street Clinic in London.

My injecting career began in 2005 in a very busy clinic on the Gold Coast and Brisbane.  I was a cosmetic injectable nurse and laser technician- performing all anti-wrinkle and dermal filler treatments, laser tattoo removal, IPL skin and hair, chemical peels, facials, anti-ageing skin treatments, as well as treating acne and skin disorders. After gaining many years of non-surgical rejuvenation treatment experience, I later moved into a cosmetic nurse educator role for a large aesthetics company.

I was the Queensland educator performing clinical training in both anti-wrinkle and dermal fillers to doctors and nurses throughout Queensland and northern NSW. As well as teaching advanced and beginner injecting techniques, I also managed any adverse events and complications- working with other health care practitioners to optimise their patient outcomes.

AHPRA registration no NMWOOO1452444

I conducted and facilitated training events and workshops to upskill other injectors.  Working alongside industry KOL’s and the most experienced injectors from all over the world I gained so much experience.  Assisting them in workshops and clinical events I received so much hands-on experience.

I have been working as a clinical trainer for 9 years, and have been clinical training for Teoxane for 4.5 years.  I continue to work with industry leaders from all over the world and also continue my own learning from involvement in train the trainer workshops and teaching at state and national conferences and symposiums.

As a trainer it is essential to stay up to date with the latest clinical research to be able to teach others facial anatomy, safe injecting practices and different injecting techniques.  Patient safety and natural patient results are always what I adhere to when I teach, and also what I practice in my own injectable and skin clinic.

My specialty is a natural look – enhanced and refreshed and never overdone.  Rather than altering looks, I aim to enhance and beautify.

I have incorporated all these skills into my own clinic with a less is more age-appropriate treatment approach with high attention to detail, paramount patient safety, and considering the patient as a whole, not just focusing on improving a particular area. Being able to prioritise which treatment would give the patient the results they are seeking, and planning their treatments with individualised plans specific to their face, aesthetic goals and their anatomy.

You will also find me at the northern end of the Gold Coast where I work with a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, performing their cosmetic injectable treatments.
