REJURAN SKIN REJUVENATION TREATMENT
Currumbin, Gold Coast
What is Rejuran?

Rejuran is a new class of an injectable skin treatment designed to repair, hydrate and rejuvenate the skin.
Rejuran is a bio-remodelling injectable product that harnesses the power of polynucleotides, extracted from salmon DNA. These provide the building blocks to boost collagen and elastin production in the skin. These proteins are essential to help maintain skin structure and elasticity.
Why Salmon DNA?
Salmon DNA has proven to be most compatible with human skin. It is also rich in antioxidants which help neutralise free radicals and protect against environmental damage.

Where does Rejuran come from?
Rejuran was originally developed in South Korea, where it has been popular for 10 years. Initially it was used for wound healing and skin repair, and is now known for its skin rejuvenation benefits. Rejuran represents a shift in how we approach skin health and anti-ageing treatments.

What are Polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides work on fibroblast cells. Fibroblasts form collagen and are important for wound healing and tissue repair.
When injected into your skin, collagen increases, making the skin tighter, dermis thicker and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

How is Rejuran different to other treatments?
Rejuran is a in injectable skin treatment but differs to other skin boosters that are derived from hyaluronic acid. Rejuran works with salmon polynucleotides to improve skin quality.
Rejuran also works differently to volumising products as once polynucleotides have stimulated the fibroblast cells, they disappear with no trace left within the skin. They improve damaged and aged skin, naturally, without adding any volume.

How does Rejuran work?

Rejuran works through several ways to improve skin quality, overall texture, tone and restore luminosity to the skin.

It targets many skin concerns including scars, redness and inflammation, pigmentation, enlarged pores, and fine lines and wrinkles.

1. Cellular regeneration and fibroblast activation
-
Salmon DNA polynucleotides stimulate fibroblasts which leads to an increase in collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
-
This leads to improved skin elasticity and firmness.

2. Hydration
-
Attracts and retains water molecules to increase the skin’s hydration and improve the skin barrier.
-
This leads to a more youthful and plumper complexion.

3. Wound healing and formation of new blood vessels
-
Accelerates the healing effect by promoting angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels).
-
Enhanced cell turnover and new blood vessels increases blood flow which enhances skin nutrition and skin health.

4. Anti-inflammatory effect
-
The anti-inflammatory effect calms red, irritated skin, benefiting conditions such as acne and rosacea.
-
This leads to faster healing and reduced redness post treatment.

5. Anti-oxidant
-
Antioxidants are substances that can prevent or delay some types of cell damage by neutralising free radicals and reducing oxidative stress.
-
This repair and protect mechanism may help build resilience and skin health.

Who is NOT suitable for Rejuran

-
Age: Individuals must be over 18 years old.
-
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Must not be pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive.
-
Allergies: Not be allergic to fish, shellfish or seafood.
-
Autoimmune Disorders: Any condition that affects the immune system may not be suitable for a Rejuran treatment as this stimulates the body’s natural processes.
-
Patients with unrealistic expectations. Those seeking dramatic, instant results may not be suitable as this treatment does take time for the results to be visible. Also, those seeking and expecting a lift like a facelift are also not suitable and treatment alternatives will be provided at the time of the consultation.
-
Active skin conditions: This includes active acne, cold sores, recent infections or other skin conditions where the skin barrier is impaired or irritated.
-
Recent cosmetic procedures. It is advised to wait 2 weeks after having chemical peels, laser, or any treatments that have penetrated the skin, until the skin barrier is healed. This includes recent volumising product (dermal filler) that is present in the same area should be avoided for 3 months. A Rejuran treatment is preferred first, and then volumising treatments 2 weeks after to minimise any post treatment complications.
-
Blood disorders: A history of blood clotting or excessive bleeding may not be suitable for this treatment due to an increase risk of bleeding and bruising.

During the consultation your medical history will be reviewed and suitability for this treatment discussed. If you are not suitable alternative treatment solutions will be offered and we have many alternative skin treatments available at Restore My Glow.
Rejuran potential side effects and risks

Rejuran injections, like all medical procedures carry potential risks and potential complications. These are discussed during the consultation process and may include:
-
Redness: At or around the injection site
-
Bruising: This can last for several days
-
Swelling: At or around the injection sites that can last for a few days
-
Little lumps / papules from the injection sites: These can last for a few days but are temporary. These bumps/ lumps are common and can look like tiny mosquito bites. They usually subside in 24 hours.
-
Allergic reactions: Although rare, some patients may have an allergic reaction to the treatment.
-
Infection: With any injection there is a risk of an infection. Having this treatment performed by a qualified health care professional in a clean professional environment and adhering to safe infection control procedures can help to minimise this risk. This can also be minimised by following post care instructions provided to you in clinic.
-
Temporary discomfort. Some patients may report some discomfort during the procedure as the product doesn’t contain local anaesthetic. We do prefer to apply a strong numbing cream to the area before we inject you. Patient comfort is important to us so we also minimise discomfort through stress balls, relaxing music and a calm peaceful environment.
-
The properties of Rejuran, compared to other cosmetic treatments are different. When injected into the same plane as fat or hyaluronic acid fillers (volumisers) it may cause hyper- reactions so we recommend to space these treatments apart. Discussing your previous history of cosmetic and medical procedures with your health care practitioner is important.
-
Following post treatment recommendations provided to you will also help to minimise any post treatment complication. These can be found on the website, and are also emailed to you at the time of your Rejuran treatment. For any further information please contact the clinic.

How is a Rejuran treatment performed

-
Medical history: A consultation is performed first where your medical history is discussed, the treatment discussed and all the options, risks, costs and what to expect during the treatment. It is your opportunity to ask questions and gather all the information needed to make an informed decision about the treatment, and if it is the right one for you.
-
Skin consultation: A skin consultation and facial assessment is completed at this time, as well as listening to and understanding your treatment goals.
-
Personalised plan: An individualised treatment plan is made up for you and post and pre-treatment recommendations are discussed.
-
Clinical Photography: Pre-treatment photos are taken. These are important to compare your treatment outcomes throughout the duration of the course of the treatment.
-
Anaesthetic: A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area.
-
Procedure: A series of micro injections that deliver highly bio-compatible salmon polynucleotides directly to the skin. The syringe contains small needles that are placed quite superficial into the skin.
-
Post care: A post procedure cream is applied to the treatment areas or optional Vskin post procedure mask is applied. Vskin masks reduce redness and soothe the skin and can be added onto the treatment or taken home to use that evening. They can be found under add- ons. Post care instructions are given to you verbally and also emailed. These can also be found on the website or contact the clinic if you have any concerns.
-
Re-book: Your next treatment session is booked. The number of sessions needed are discussed but this is always a guide. For specific skin concerns, and not just overall skin rejuvenation, some patients will require further treatments or combination treatments to achieve their goals. These will also be discussed during the consultation.
How long does the procedure take

Appointments are 60 minutes to allow for topical numbing cream application. They are never rushed as patient comfort and patient safety are our top priority.
How many treatments will I need

-
Skin rejuvenation and complexion improvements: 3-4 treatments spaced 2-4 weeks apart.
-

Can Rejuran be combined with other treatments?

-
Absolutely, combining it with other treatments to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and to replace lost volume work very well. We do like to space these treatments out. These aesthetic treatments work in harmony to maximise skin health, particularly in combination with an at home active skincare range.
-
Spacing out treatments to reduce the appearance of wrinkles should be 2 weeks to allow for any movement of the product.
-
If volume replacement is needed to the same area,, then we like to perform a Rejuran treatment first, and then volumisers 2 weeks after. If volumisers are already in the same area, waiting 3 months before your Rejuran treatment is recommended to prevent any papules.

What other treatments can I do at home to maintain my results?

-
Using your Airyday take home LED mask will also help to maintain your skin results. These are available for purchase in clinic with 432 lights of red, blue and infrared lights. These can also be used to reduce redness the day of your treatment.
-
We stock Bioline skincare that contains active skin ingredients and this will help to maintain your skin results.
-
A daily 50+ sunscreen is recommended and we stock Airyday. These are more than just a sunscreen, but are also a make-up primer too and contain vitamins C, E and F and are blue light blocking. These feel hydrating and not heavy like other sunscreens. These can be tried in clinic so you can choose which one you prefer.
-
If you need to cover up a bruise we stock Oxygenetix post procedure foundation. This make up accelerates the healing process, is light and breathable and is the only post procedure make up we recommend. It covers up rosacea and tattoos or imperfections too, but can be worn as an every day make up too.
