REJUVENATING PEEL
(chemical skin peel)
Ideal for reducing the effects of early skin aging, by fighting against wrinkles and to provide anti- flaccidity action.
The Rejuvenating Peel is a uniquely tailored specific combination of Pyruvic Acid and Lactic Acid ideal for reducing the effects of early skin aging, by fighting against wrinkles and to provide anti- flaccidity action. It also improves the appearance of post acne scars and revitalises the skin.

It is designed to lift the stratum corneum without causing invasive damage to the epidermis to firm and tighten sagging skin.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A CHEMICAL PEEL?
A chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin, resulting in a smooth, improved texture. It is one of the facial resurfacing treatments we use at Restore My Glow to improve overall skin condition.
They are used to correct facial blemishes, uneven skin tone and pigmentation, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. In addition, will remove damaged skin cells, revealing healthier skin underneath.
Not all peels are created equal as they vary in their degree of exfoliation, ingredients and strengths. The customised peels we use are gentle, yet effective in exfoliating the skin, and have been chosen to work in harmony with all our other treatments available in clinic.

It suits all skin types and skin conditions. Dry, dehydrated skin, non-inflammatory acne, moderate and advanced wrinkles.
• Dull and sagging skin,
• Skin showing the first signs of ageing,
• Pigmentation and uneven skin tone.

What areas can be treated?

Face, neck, hands, arms, decolletage or any areas that are of a concern.
WHO IS THIS PEEL NOT SUITABLE FOR?
Anyone with active cold sores or signs of an infection.
Anyone immunocompromised and undergoing treatment. This may increase the risk of an infection or delayed healing of the skin.

Is this peel right for me?
We have a series of peels that we customise according to your skin needs so might recommend this one alone, or this one with other peels. We also use our peels in combination with skin needling for maximum skin results. This peel is for patients looking to improve skin elasticity, hydration and improve fine lines and wrinkles.

What is the down time of the rejuvenating peel?
When performed by a qualified skin clinician they can be performed with minimal side effects. They have little to no downtime. Mild redness can vary among patients and may only last from a few minutes to a few hours. They are gentle enough to be done any time of the day.
Following post treatment recommendations will help to minimise downtime.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?
For skin rejuvenation we suggest 3-4 treatments, spaced 2 weeks apart.
To maintain a clearer complexion, we recommend maintenance treatments every 4-6 months, and whenever your skin is in need of an improvement.
To maximise your skin results it can be combined with skin needling/ microneedling.
Many patients see results after a single treatment, but for targeting wrinkles, pigmentation, and other skin concerns, additional or combination treatments may be necessary.

What is the procedure?
Before your procedure, you’ll first have a consultation with our skin clinician. During this visit, they’ll help you determine what the best treatment option and peel is for you.
The peel will be discussed, how the treatment is performed, and the associated risks. We will also ask about your medical history and if there are any medications you are taking that could interfere with the peel.
Having realistic expectations during this appointment is also important as chemical peels won’t halt the ageing process.
Before a chemical peel, you must notify us of:
• Any medications you take,
• Have you been taking Roaccutane for at least 6 months,
• Have you ceased retinol or Retin-A topical medication for at least 48 hours,
• Not have had a laser treatment in the last week,
• No active infections in the treatment area.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH A CHEMICAL PEEL?
Stronger peels generally have more side effects than milder, more superficial peels that we use in clinic. We have carefully selected the Toskani peels as they have little to no down time and suit all skin types, especially those with sensitive skin and those that have never had a chemical peel before.
See the potential risks summary page for a detailed risk. These are discussed during the skin consultation.

What other treatments can be combined with a chemical peel?
Combining this peel with other treatments will boost your results. These may include:
• Anti-ageing treatments to reduce the appearance of wrinkles,
• LED light therapy,
• Skin boosters and skin needling,
• Other peels may be recommended to use in your peel series.
How to prepare for my chemical peel?
• Using daily active medical grade skincare will help prep your skin for your peel. This can help reduce any post peel inflammation or hyperpigmentation.
• Airyday Reboot Fluid will prep your skin so its ready for your peel. Do not use it the night before or the night of your peel.
• Wearing daily Spf 50+ to prevent your skin from sunburn.
• Avoiding any fake tans to the treatment area.
• Solariums or skin tanning is avoided, especially in the 2 weeks prior to the peel.
• No laser resurfacing or anti-ageing or volume replacement treatment 2 weeks before.
What to expect during the skin peel

The individual response to a peel varies based on skin condition, skin type, and the degree of pigmentation/ acne and damage. The peel is only left on the skin for up to 5 minutes but there are a few steps taken before application. This is what your peel treatment entails.

1) A skin consultation to address your skin concerns will be done first, then the customised peel is chosen to address your concerns.
2) Skin is cleansed to optimise skin permeability and promote absorption and response to cosmetic treatments.
3) A refreshing toner with bamboo water is sprayed on the area (with AHA's from lemon and orange) to moisturise and soften the skin while gently boosting skin cell renewal.
4) A degreasing solution to allow penetration of active ingredients is applied, which also removes any traces of remaining dirt and makeup.
5) Your customised peel is applied and is left on for up to 5 minutes. During this time, we are observing your skin and asking for feedback to ensure maximum comfort is maintained.
6) A fast acting, refreshing and soothing solution is applied to neutralise any remaining acids and help pH skin recovery.
7) Finally, a post recovery healing gel/ cream is applied to soothe the skin, reduce inflammation, renews the connective tissue of the skin and provides firmness, smoothness and hydration to the skin. Its active ingredients restore the barrier function of the skin and provides a photo- protective effect.
In addition, it accelerates the skins generation process while hydrating, and stimulating the synthesis of collagen and elastin.
8) Peel after care is provided to ensure the treatments safety, effectiveness and best outcomes possible.
9) A post procedure Vskin mask is an additional add on that can be applied immediately after the peel to calm and soothe the skin. This can also be used at home that evening to aid recovery and healing.
How will my skin look after the peel?
The skin may appear a little dry in some areas in the days following, but will feel instantly smooth and hydrated. Apply regular moisturiser and daily sunscreen.
You can use a LED mask to reduce any redness following the peel- the Airyday LED bright on masks are available in clinic to use in the comfort of your own home.
